Our history

About Spinning Spools Quilt Guild

Spinning Spools Quilt Guild (SSQG) was started in 1986, then was established as an Oklahoma not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation in October 2006.  The Guild operates in accordance with its Bylaws.

The Guild's purpose, as stated in our Bylaws is:

1. To stimulate an interest in quilts
2. To promote and advance the art of quilt making
3. To conduct educational programs and services in all aspects of quilt making
4. To preserve our quilting heritage and tradition
5. To promote, provide, or contribute to community programs on the basis of charitable principles
6. To promote, provide, or contribute to charitable or educational organizations

Our Team

The Spinning Spools Quilt Guild is managed by a 9-member Board of Directors, which includes the SSQG Officers and other members from the membership at large. Additional activities are coordinated by several Committee Chairs.
