Spinning Spools Quilt Guild donates quilts and other items to people and organizations in the Shawnee area.  Some of the organizations we work with are listed below, along with the types of quilts they request.

American Legion Shawnee was founded by a group of veterans who wanted to create a space where their fellow veterans could find the support and resources they need to thrive. They understand the unique challenges that veterans face, and are committed to helping them overcome those challenges.

Child Advocacy Center of Central Oklahoma

Kids Quilts

Their mission is to promote hope, healing, and justice for children by uniting public, private, and community partners.

Serving Lincoln, Pottawatomie, and Seminole counties, they're committed to breaking the silence around child abuse and fostering a safe, supportive environment for children and their families.

Together, we can create a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive. Join us in our fight to empower and uplift our community's most vulnerable members.

Hope Pregnancy Center

Crib Quilts, Positive Bags

Hope Pregnancy Center is a one-stop Pregnancy Medical Clinic specializing in early pregnancy confirmation, abortion information, options education, after-abortion care and parenting support.  Get answers to your questions about abortionadoption, and parenting. All your options.

Positive bags are given to clients who have a 'positive' pregnancy test.  Each bag contains literature, a Gospel tract, diaper, pacifier, onesie and other small items.  The bags are a gift to clients to help them understand the reality of a new and wonderful life growing within them.  They give away up to a dozen bags per week at each center and are always in need of more.

Pottawatomie County Sherriff's Department

Throw sized or larger quilts

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is committed to serving our community with professionalism, integrity, and respect. They work in partnership with our citizens to promote safety, trust, and accountability.

Quilts will be carried in officer's vehicles to be given as needed.

Renew Bed Ministry, New Hope Baptist Church

60" x 80" Kids Quilts

Our bed ministry builds twin beds for children in need throughout Pottawatomie County. They provide each bed with bedding and are always taking donations of mattresses and unused bedding. This ministry helps New Hope Baptist Church practically connect and love on our neighbors!

Seminole County DHS Christmas Party

Throw-sized or Larger, Kids Quilts

Seminole County DHS hosts a Christmas party each year for Foster Children.  They request 50 quilts each year.
